The average wig will last approximately one year if it is subjected to normal wear and tear and maintenance.   By providing a wig with proper care and maintenance, it is possible to significantly increase or decrease the lifespan of the wig, depending on the situation.  

To begin, make sure that your hands are free of any foreign objects before continuing.  

A person can learn the process of caring for a hairpiece by practicing on his or her own wig collection, which is a good way to start.   It is recommended that you pre-soak the wig in warm water (2030 degrees is preferred) for approximately 3 minutes before washing it.   It is possible that the lifespan of the wig will be significantly reduced if the water temperature rises significantly above its normal range.   When washing clothes, use a small amount of gentle shampoo and a manual scrubbing motion to get the job done as quickly as possible.  .  It is not necessary to use excessive force or to soak for an extended period of time in order to remove stains from clothing or carpet.   You should only wash your wig when absolutely necessary and not more than that; otherwise, the wig may become untied during the washing cycle.  



While it is acceptable to use some hair care products, such as conditioner, to keep a  that is made of real human hair looking shiny after washing it, it is not acceptable to use a wig that is made of synthetic hair after washing it is.   When a wig is made of synthetic hair, it is not permitted to use certain hair care products to keep the wig looking shiny after it has been thoroughly washed.   When the wig is made of synthetic hair, it is not permitted to use conditioner, for example.   Take care to thoroughly rinse out the wig with clean water before removing it from your head for an extended period of time to ensure that any residue is completely removed from the wig.   If you apply hair care products to a wig and leave them on for an excessive amount of time, you are breaking the rules.  

Dressing in your best formal attire for this occasion is strongly recommended.  

Recent years have seen an increase in the popularity of wigs with adjustable hair sets.   These wigs should be fitted to the most comfortable fit before wearing them in order to avoid the wig being pulled excessively when not in use.   If you want your wig to last as long as possible, it's best not to overstimulate it in the same way that you would normal human hair.   This includes exposing your wig to the sun and acid rain, pulling it, and engaging in other activities that are detrimental to the longevity of your wig, just as you would avoid overstimulating normal human hair.

As a result, it is critical to consider how the wig will be stored during the period of time when it will not be worn.   Ensure that the hair factory is completely free of dirt and debris before proceeding with the rest of the procedure.   Once the wig has been washed and dried, if there are any chemicals left on it, please inspect it to make sure that they have not been re-applied.   The wig should be allowed to dry completely before putting it away to avoid corrosion occurring as a result of any residual moisture remaining in the product during storage.   If you keep your hairpiece dry and well-ventilated, it will last for the longest time possible.
