Tracklib Expands with ‘Sounds’ – A Game-Changer for Modern Music Production

18 Marz 2025 in 07:43am

Tracklib, the innovative Stockholm-based sampling platform known for offering legal access to original music, has taken a major step forward with the launch of its newest feature—Sounds. This freshly unveiled collection of royalty-free loops and one-shots is designed to provide producers with even more flexibility and inspiration, all while reinforcing Tracklib’s mission to simplify and elevate music creation.

Tracklib has long served as a solution to one of the music industry’s most frustrating challenges: sample clearance. Rather than risking copyright issues or navigating complex legal agreements, Tracklib users can browse a vast library of over 100,000 tracks across 400 labels and publishers, legally sample them, and clear them easily for release. With the addition of Sounds, the platform now enters the royalty-free arena, putting itself in direct competition with major players like Splice and Loopmasters.

The Sounds feature is included with the platform’s Premium ($13.99/month) and Max ($19.99/month) subscription plans, while Lite users ($8.99/month) continue to benefit from basic sampling access. All content in the new library is authentically recorded and curated by real musicians, with a focus on high-quality, human-made elements rather than mass-produced digital loops.

“This is a pivotal moment for Tracklib and our customers,” said CEO Andreas Ahlenius. “We’ve created a one-stop shop where music makers can both legally sample iconic recordings and now use royalty-free sounds to build their own compositions from scratch.”

The strategic move follows Tracklib’s earlier decision to eliminate license fees for most subscription tiers, allowing users to clear an unlimited number of samples at no extra cost. With Sounds, the company aims to become a comprehensive music production ecosystem—blending old-school musical inspiration with new-school accessibility.

Chairman Andreas Liffgarden emphasized the platform’s dedication to musical integrity: “Everything you hear in our library has been created and curated with care by real musicians. It’s not about having the most sounds, it’s about having the right sounds.”

Tracklib’s samples have already made their way into hit songs by Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole, and the company reports a tripling of cleared samples since the start of the year—a signal of growing adoption by top-tier artists and bedroom producers alike.

As noted in Tracklib’s State of Sampling Report, nearly 20% of songs on the Billboard Top 100 in 2022 were based on samples. With sampling firmly entrenched in popular music, the need for ethical, affordable, and user-friendly platforms is greater than ever. Tracklib’s move into royalty-free content is a clear recognition of this shift.
