EA Sports and FIFA are disbanding after 30 years of partnership

"The launch of EA SPORTS FC will not alter any current EA Sports international football game and EA as well as FIFA are looking forward to launching the greatest, most expansive EA SPORTS FIFA ever later this fall," EA said in a statement. "Our final FIFA game will also come with more game modes including teams, features and leagues, players and competitions than in any previous edition."
In the fall of last year, Cam Weber, EA Sports head of the general management and top executive explained that the company is re-evaluating its license agreement with FIFA considering the vast variety of licenses that the game already carried, from individual soccer teams and leagues and what could the FIFA brand actually brought to the game. In the same day, it was discovered that EA had filed trademarks in the U.K. for a game called "EA Sports FC."
In the statement issued on Tuesday, EA the chief executive Andrew Wilson said EA Sports FC will be "the biggest and most powerful football club worldwide, and at the center of football fandom."
"For more than 30 years, we've worked to build the world's biggest football community -- comprising hundreds of millions of players, thousands of athlete partners, and hundreds of federations, leagues and teams" Wilson said.
