To learn more about Jagex's release of This Means Warp, as well as Lead Product Manager for Jagex Robert Fox-Galassi to
OSRS Gold get their thoughts on this new collaboration.

Our start in the games industry came from tinkering in game concepts, code and game design over a long period of time, before we finally came up with something usable!

I have 10 years' experience at Google before I decided that I wanted to pursue game development full-time, and Matt's professional experience includes building Hollywood computers on movie sets, as well as stints on the scene of South Korean esports and mobile game development. We're so excited to share our work through This Means Warp.

Many video games have inspired an aspiring developer to make their own. But it's rare to have an original piece of work taken over by the company behind the original game.

However, this was the case for Brendan Malcolm, the one-man team of Australian producer Games By Malcs, whose idle RPG Melvor Idle is published by Jagex, the creator of RuneScape, a game that was core to Malcolm's inspiration behind his own initiative.

Melvor Idle strips away the graphics and 3D environments of RuneScape and other MMOs and distills it down to a menu-based idle game where players are able to manage their abilities, inventory and quests. Combat encounters are fought and winning awards XP and loot that can then be invested in any skill tree or upgrades players choose, while repetition of activities like making or cutting wood can bring rewards of their own.

Malcolm has played RuneScape since childhood He has also played with a number of the best idle games, including Clicker Heroes, Cookie Clicker and NGU Idle. While he enjoyed them, he felt this genre could offer something that was more rewarding in the same way to Jagex's top RPG.

"So I decided to challenge myself to create my own in the dark, not knowing the game would ever be launched, let alone becoming famous," he tells GamesIndustry.biz. "I wanted to create something outside of the established idle game mold and something that had a lot of features and offered players a real choices about how they wanted to go about their lives, rather than just increase numbers continuously.

After playing with it for while behind closed doors, I started meshing ideas and mechanics from classic MMOs together with the most popular idle game concept, creating something that could be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home, at the gym and fit in OSRS Gold For Sale the player's hectic life."
