Vanilla's vanilla class didn't want their Tier Gear simply because it was not well-categorized or didn't meet their specifications (feral Druid DPS warlord, for instance,). In tbc every specs tier gear is either decent or WOW Classic TBC Gold bis, so overall , I'd say there's lot less waiting to get properly geared.

There are 5 upgrades to Mc's feral tank and some of them were sought-after (accuria, agi cloakoff rag). Tier gear was useless , other except for a few pieces relevant for a fire resist tank set. Other items dropped (heavy dark iron ring, shoulders for fireguards) weren't sold as there was no demand for them so it wasn't that thrilling.

Not as memorable as buy WOW TBC Classic Gold the others, but I thin that's because of having more acceptable choices. For example, you might wear three pants. You might have one heroic and one Kara and one tailored pants. The bis would surpass the other options. If you were playing vanilla, you'd progress from that dungeon blue to the final upgrade in that phase.
