'NBA 2K21' goes full MMO with next-gen The City mode
Between photo-realistic images and a brand new NBA 2K MT style, basketball fans have a lot to look forward to if it comes to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of NBA 2K21. And you can add The City, an expanded online hub world, to the listing of next-generation specific capabilities.
The City builds on the local gameplay mode that has been a hallmark of the franchise over the past couple of years. Series developer Visual Concepts is creating everything essentially sounds like an MMORPG. When you visit The City, you'll start in"Rookieville." It is exactly what it sounds like: a tutorial area where you'll need to complete several tasks before the rest of the online world opens up to you. As Soon as You're out of Rookieville, then you'll select one of four Affiliations to join: North, South, East and West. Every faction requires another borough of The City their house and has its own mayor.
Visual Concepts will handpick the match's first mayors from the NBA2K community to serve an initial term. Then, each Affiliation will vote for their agent via an in-game survey -- in case you have not had your fill of elections in the last week. Each term lasts six weeks, and as a mayor, you'll have Buy MT 2K21 the capacity to specify your faction's visual identity.
