In our casewe are being fast-forwarded through the eight decades of articles so we are skipping over a lot of the downtime that the PSO2 Meseta gamers on the Japanese side obtained (waiting months for the next chapter of the story, waiting decades for the story to progress, and waiting patiently for decades for things such as quality-of-life fixes along with the likes) since we have a lot of it already in a packaged way and we are still expecting more of the to come.
Considering the popularity the match has in Japan, I can't envision that Sega would just yank away the game and pull the plug the minute the New Genesis comes round the corner. In the followup videos that were published, our characters do carry over and there are things that do take over (most of these being cosmetic).
If you're having doubts about whether you want to play with the game, you could always give it a try (it is free-to-play and its monetization options aren't mandatory to go through the sport or to make it much ) and invent your personal experience. From what I could see, at the event which I created with this being like that which Monster Hunter World failed later Monster Hunter Generations, is that New Genesis appears to be setting up"more" Phantasy Star Online 2 but in a new setting and coat of paint to match up more with the times especially when so much of the gameplay revealed up to now still looks familiar as well as indistinguishable.
Pso2 endgame is style. Fashion carries over into New Genesis.

Pvp are a nightmare to balance. Also, the capacity to make money off of AC scratch may bring some pseudo-p2w concerns to light.
I guess it has an esports scene? But only in japan and it's really tiny. It's the ARKs BT and only like a couple of times ever go up during certain PSO stations every year approximately. Not really a scene I figure but it's at least a competition.
I feel as though it might have great PVP but the present one isn't it which is the reason why it's so dead seemingly.
Feeling really true its a pve oriented sport but pvp is still very enjoyable
