I've done many, many things over the years playing OSRS gold, and I am not saying you can't be successful while playing RuneScape by any means. I am saying that it is unhealthy to perform RuneScape every day irrespective of if you are doing something worthwhile. I don't feel like that feeling of needing to fill my need for RS daily is made any legitimate by the simple fact that I can get work done while I'm doing it. The urge to indulge in RS is still there, and very much an issue in my own eyes. Honestly, this line of thinking comes as an excuse to keep yourself investing time into RuneScape instead of finding sources or hobbies of amusement.
I don't really recognise why you are thinking that there is an obligation to be involved with other hobbies or sources of amusement though - the advantages of those things rest solely in the eye of the partaker. Do you feel ashamed of playing? Since I love playing with it on the 11, I play OSRS. I would choose a different hobby, if I didn't like it. Hobbies do not intrinsically exist for the sake of anything besides passage time. Therefore, there is no likened reason to make excuses to commit some time into this more than any other immaterial avocation. It equally valuable, and curative inasmuch as not beneficial.
If you've got a crippling addiction that's ruining your life, then I guess that makes it a different circumstance. I do wonder if maybe the fact you're so aware of these invisible obligations to indulge in hobbies within an arbitrarily defined"moderation" is in fact perpetuating the defeatist mentality that's the reason for the cycle to continue. I share that having undergone it at times with procrastination. As for inactive hobbies better than RuneScape, I believe that you're too difficult for me to say... But in a game in which folks go for 200m all abilities ( that I know is pretty much the extreme end) I cant think of the equal in an inactive hobbie. Reading 10 books a day? Idk...
In the long run, I guess it is only a matter of perspective. Somebody who spends hours a day in front of the television vs buy 2107 runescape gold will probably be seen by others as someone who is addicted. But someone who spends 6 hours a day studying will be seen as someone who's diligent and using a good control. Reading books can be quite active (emotionally ) depending on how dense the information is. I can attest to it, I really don't think I could read quite as far as I play with RuneScape. I actually fell/fall asleep in the middle of reading regularly. Unless it were fiction, but generally the"productive" type of reading is non-fiction.
