Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bug-Off Event is live with great rewards

Aside from Wedding Season, June has been a fairly uneventful month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but a new in-game event is underway. Today, June 27, players in the Northern Hemisphere will be able to take part in the game's first Bug-Off. Much like the Fishing Tourney, the Bug-Off is a recurring event in Animal Crossing. This competition is hosted by Flick and focuses on catching bugs rather than fish, with some bug-themed furniture and other items up for grabs depending on how well you perform.

The Bug-Off event is the start of many incoming Summer events. The event is being hosted by Flick, a reoccurring character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Flick will occasionally appear on the island and offer to purchase bugs from the player for an inflated price. Players can also submit bugs so Flick can turn them into neat replica models. This Summer, Flick is dedicating his time giving back to the Animal Crossing community by hosting Bug-Off, a bug-catching competition, on the player's island.

Players can participate in Bug-Off for the first time for free. Any other time after that, the player will need to pay 500 Bells. Flick will appear on the island these days from 6 am to 9 pm. The goal is to catch as many bugs as quickly as possible within 3 minutes. Each bug is worth a single point. Players can also accumulate points to win some neat prizes. 100 points for a bronze trophy, 200 points for a silver trophy, and 300 points for the gold trophy. In addition, our site z2u.com has a large quantity of safe ACNH Bells For Sale.

A new type of seasonal crafting material is also available in the Northern Hemisphere: summer shells. You'll find these washed up on the shore of your beach throughout the summer, and they can be used to craft special DIY recipes. A couple of new seasonal items are also available to purchase from the Nook Stop terminal for a limited time, and there's a new summer update coming on July 3 that adds swimming and more.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives so much free content to players. New seasonal events have occurred from Spring to Summer and each one aims to bring players back to their island for a little fun. Unlike in previous entries, players cannot time travel into the past or future to make these seasonal events happen. Nintendo has prevented this by releasing these events online only on specific days. This may fumble the replayability of the title in the future if Nintendo stops supporting the title with new content. Regardless, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch yet.
