"Rev caves are the only thing that stops me from OSRS gold being compassionate towards them," reads one reply on Reddit in a RuneScape thread about Venezuelan RuneScape players. "Nothing frustrates me more than walking in each world and being attacked by an army of rune crossbows and snake bandanas." "Jagex has to do something about those Venezuelans," another RuneScape player wrote, adding:"I don't care in their real-life situation. They perform with RuneScape solely for financial gain and it's ruining the economy. They offer nothing to RuneScape, they do not interact within the community."
Whenever some RuneScape players discuss stories in their negative interactions with Venezuelans, other RuneScape players, such as Pip Johnson, aren't as critical about them. In fact, Johnson sympathises with the situation which Venezuelan RuneScape players have found themselves, and explains his experience with one Venezuelan RuneScape player as"the first genuine experience" he has had with the other RuneScape player online in over 15 decades, after he had been talented items and provided guidance about the best ways to accelerate. "I really do think the fact that the economy is in shambles is dreadful, and I do not blame anybody there for making money in any way they can, irrespective of any impact it might have on RuneScape," Johnson states.
"Any one of us could do exactly the same." There is an influx of memes on websites like Reddit parodying the scenario which Venezuelan RuneScape players have seen themselves. Johnson believes that they've become an easy goal from the RuneScape community for people seeking to make cheap jokes at someone else's expense. "Some RuneScape players think RuneScape players are taking advantage of RuneScape for personal profit and [that] they should not be," he continues. "There's also a great deal of racism in the online gambling community. As they're so prevalent, venezuelans are an easy target. Their inhabitants in RuneScape is now somewhat of a meme in the community and this brings even more attention to them especially."
The inventor of the contentious Reddit post detailing how to kill Venezuelan RuneScape players in RuneScape, who wishes to be understood just as Sam, informs Polygon that his article was misinterpreted by viewers, and was just supposed to be a"dark joke" comparing Venezuelan RuneScape players to robots. He says he had been amazed by the thread escalated into remarks. Asked if he felt guilty seeing the answers to the thread, and the impact that RuneScape 2007 gold encouraging RuneScape players to aim RuneScape players from Venezuela might have on that group, he states:"I mean, if there was a circumstance where somebody lost four hours of farming, I'd surely feel guilty. Let me be clear: I do believe [this ] if anyone doing so or me was having an impact on individuals' lives doing so, we would feel guilty. I think what scares people is the potential of the affecting people, though that's unrealistic."
