It's when skill gems and the passive tree overlap that things get very exciting Path of exile currency. Naturally, I've unlocked plenty of nodes that increase fire damage, but a few big nodes have these smart synergies that are really enjoyable to unlock. Take Elemental Equilibrium for example, making enemies I hit with elemental damage temporarily get 25 percent resistance to those components and -50 percent immunity to other components.
How could that be useful to me? Well, when an enemy is hit by Orb of Storms, they become immune to lightning damage but weaker to fire. And because Scorching Ray is really a harm over time ability, it doesn't actually "hit" an enemy, so that I never risk making them more resistant to fire by accident. That's just one of a dozen small synergies my character has. I've never been a great deal of concept crafter, but seeing my build gradually come together as I unlock more important nodes has been a rewarding experience.
It's slower and lacks exactly the same kinetic energy as critters ragdoll and the environment crumbles out of the attacks. However, what it lacks in action and animation, it makes up for in spades with the strategic depth that comes from slowly molding a personality from such a strong system. I don't feel nearly as connected to some of my Diablo characters since I feel like I've spent so much time to sexually understanding the way my Witch works. She feels handcrafted although I built her out of a template. Along together with her passive tree almost complete and a fantastic deal of her abilities set up, she burns through packs of creatures with tremendous ferocity.
After I adopted Path of Exile's sprawling complexity, the dominos of my apprehension began to fall. I wished to find out more about the POE game since I understood that its complexity is in fact a virtue. The other evening I spent an hour to the wiki finding out where I can find the rest of the skill gems I want to complete my construct, and there is a couple dozen additional long-term goals I'm starting to work towards. Like a fantastic MMO, I am excited about the travel instead of the destination. And that is another reason why Diablo 3's Necromancer, despite being a lot of fun to perform, never hooked me for more than a few days. In a hour or two, I had electricity levelled him to 70, but that I did not feel any relationship with the progress I had made.
Now that I have learned to enjoy Path of Exile's core POE game, I'm also beginning to appreciate Path of Oriath. As I mentioned, it presents six new functions for a total of ten. This replaces the genre-standard difficulty system, in which I'd normally play precisely the same content again and again at greater difficulties. Instead, Path of Exile is now one massive adventure. Technically four of the newest acts are a retread through familiar zones, but there is constant detours to new areas and striking changes to the scene to keep things interesting. Beyond that, there is a whole endPOE game to look forward to, however I'm not certain if I will even get there. I've already been poe buy currency studying other construct guides and I'm itching to try something new, to experience that slow transformation from weakling to god-like but using a brand new playstyle.
