I agree, I wasn't expecting that. Been a long time since I've played a Basketball game but this one being free I'll have to get back into it. 2K20 MT is just a giant casino with a great deal of p2w mechanics. Just a warning. It's also buggy. Any difficulties with single player? I stay far from MP in 2k games. I exclusively play with the modes that are offline and I love it. The shooting is a bit annoying (playing hall of fame so it could be that) because it seems like it's necessary to receive a green release with anyone, ignoring their rating, but it's really great. I love playing defense. Matchups matter. Strength matters. It's really great if you only play offline.
Is it still that way? I am not sure how anybody plays with it. I am probably enjoy the 1% who performs the My League style. They nuked the GM manner so some of these features are missing from My League, but I only enjoy playing with the center basketball facet. I perform all 82 and select a team and enter the next season lol.
In 2k12 I played the crap out of online association with my buddies, it was a blast. It was enjoyable each to possess our own draft and teams and play a complete season, with no possibility of microtransactions. They kept making it worse and worse and it may not be in NBA 2K20 any more. At least in launch, the GM Mode was officially a GM simulator. Subs couldn't be made by you you played in which I thought my game was broken. So I changed to My League and it is a bare bones experience where you don't manage the player's happiness and small things like this. It is what it is I imagine, although Personally, I liked that.
Never actually played 2k20 since I got fed up with NBA 2K20s after 2k17 but the character creator is pretty in depth and supports multiple characters but what is after you complete the story(that I heard is pretty decent). There's basically nothing to do but play online or you might play myteam that's pretty good since you get to perform challenges to get the get players and create your own team logo, pajamas, ect.. NBA 2K20 can also be a pretty major grind if you decide to take things slow but you'd need to eventually play online on that too though.
Not really. Some mechanisms could use some tweaking but you can play offline. Ways like MyTeam can readily be done offline. I don't actually play online but that I even can enjoy the card collecting in MyTeam.I simply play with my career style and if they make it a very very sluggish grind to receive your participant past 90 overall rating, it's still pretty enjoyable. I play with a game or two while listening to a podcast each day after work. CEO of take 2 has indicated they're not milking the games enough and has flat out produced grossly anti consumer comments. I really like basketball to Buy 2K MT and this isn't a basketball match. It is a casino sim which needs you to grind hours.
