Finishing the Retro World Series Program in MLB The Show 26 takes more planning than its 50-point target suggests: every listed task is needed to reach David Ortiz. Before spending MLB 26 stubs on other roster options, check which rewards you can earn through program play and decide whether the full Retro track fits your lineup goals.

Plan Around the Retro Program's Exact Point Total

The Retro track has four Player XP missions worth five points each and ten Moments worth three points each. Together they add up to exactly 50 points, so there is no room to skip a task if Ortiz is your target. Brooks Robinson arrives much earlier, at 10 points, while Tom Glavine and Bob Gibson provide starting pitching rewards later in the track.

Look at the mission requirements before deciding which games to play. Your available cards matter because the XP objectives call for players from specific teams.

Use Yankees cards to work toward the 270 Player XP mission.
Check the separate retro-team mission for its 110 Player XP requirement.
Set aside Rays cards for their 2,026 Player XP objective.
Keep Brewers cards available for the other 2,026 Player XP objective.

The two larger objectives demand more Player XP than the other missions, so check your roster before committing to the full program. The Moments supply the remaining 30 points and revisit World Series performances by Robinson, Glavine, Gibson and Ortiz, among others. Completing only the missions will leave you at 20 points.

Choose the Rewards That Fit Your Lineup

Robinson is a 99-overall third baseman and the first player reward, making the opening milestone useful if that position needs attention. Ortiz is the final reward, but his value is concentrated at the plate. Consider him for designated hitter if you want his bat without making him your defensive choice at first base.

The track also offers packs, Stubs and account XP. The 40-point milestone gives a Deluxe pack rather than a player card, so do not mistake it for the final step. Account XP totals 6,026 across the listed milestones: 1,000 each at 10, 20, 30 and 40 points, then 2,026 at 50. That account XP is separate from the Player XP required by the missions.

Compare the League Championship Rewards

The League Championship Series tracks offer different ways to address roster needs. Their final rewards are not interchangeable: the ALCS program ends with Rays second baseman Richie Palacios, while the NLCS program ends with Brewers closer Aaron Ashby.

Choose Palacios when a contact-oriented second baseman suits your lineup.
Consider Jose Ramirez for a switch-hitting third baseman with speed.
Look at Petey Halpin if you want another quick outfielder.
Prioritize Ashby if your bullpen needs a closer.

The NLCS track also includes David Hamilton, who combines speed and some power at third base, and Kyle Tucker, a left-handed hitter. Compare those roles with the cards you already use rather than chasing both final rewards solely because they are available.

Count Collection Cards Before Buying Packs

Jake Bauers and Freddy Peralta come from the separate 2026 Postseason collection, not from program points. Bauers unlocks at 32 cards and has power ratings of 116 against right-handers and 120 against left-handers. Peralta arrives at 38 cards with a 97 mph four-seam fastball, 99 Control and 99 Break.

The 38-card mark can be reached without buying packs by collecting the 36 player cards from the reactive Wild Card, Division Series and Championship Series programs, plus the Munetaka Murakami and Bauers collection rewards. Before looking at MLB 26 stubs for sale, count your eligible cards and decide whether the remaining program rewards are worth pursuing for the pitcher or hitter you actually need.

The Retro World Series Program puts Brooks Robinson and David Ortiz on the path to your Diamond Dynasty lineup, while its missions and Moments offer packs and Stubs. If you're planning your next roster move, explore MLB The Show 26 Stubs options at U4GM and review the order details before choosing what fits your goals and budget for your team.
