Old School RuneScape uses the original game engine

For all those not in the know, RuneScape is a isometric online RPG released all of the way back in 2001. That it looked quaintly conservative with RS gold. Released just a few years before World of Warcraft, RuneScape was among those first MMORPGs, and still holds the Guinness World Record for being the greatest and most often updated game.
As befits a dream epic, RuneScape occurs in a fantasy realm named Gielinor, which can be divided up into kingdoms, regions, and towns. It is so huge that you need to travel between them on ships or using magical spells. The goal is to simply wander around shooting on quests, killing NPCs, trading, and amassing OSRS gold. There is no story aside from the one you make yourself up, or along with the community members that you meet on the way.
Through the years RuneScape has gradually been upgraded with all slicker, more modern 3D visuals, but that has not been to everyone's tastes. That Jagex conducted a poll if it'd be a good idea to take RuneScape back . The reply was a resounding yes.So we've those survey respondents -- and obviously Jagex -- to thank for Old School RuneScape, a glorious nostalgic return to the match's simpler, cleaner, 2007 form.
Old School RuneScape takes a different approach. RuneScape originally began in 2001 and has seen its motor revised twice into what's called RuneScape 2 and RuneScape 3. For really retro, Old School RuneScape uses the original game engine, with nominal updates in order to operate on modern hardware. This makes Old School RuneScape look... well, awful. Not one of these MMOs look especially good however to buy RuneScape Mobile gold, Old School RuneScape maintains the most models and textures you may picture from 2001.
