MASERU Wayne Simmonds Jersey Sale , Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Lesotho's coalition partners on Friday reached a stalemate in their discussions on when to reopen parliament, missing the two-day deadline imposed by the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Security concerns were cited as the main reason for not reaching an agreement.
The deadlock has prompted South African President Jacob Zuma, chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Security and Defense (Troika) Nolan Patrick Jersey Sale , to call an extraordinary SADC Troika meeting on Monday in Pretoria to discuss the latest political developments in Lesotho.

The re-opening of Parliament is seen by many as the key to normalizing the situation and bringing stability back to Lesotho.
On August 30, the Lesotho Defense Force raided three police stations, as well as the residences of Prime Minister Thabane and newly appointed Lieutenant General Maaparankoe Mahao Shayne Gostisbehere Flyers Jersey , and closed down radio stations and telecommunications in what was described by Thabane as an attempted coup. The prime minister fled the country fearing for his life at the time. The operation left one senior police officer dead and nine others injured.
Thabane returned to Lesotho under South African protection shortly after subsequent negotiations in Pretoria had failed. He called on SADC to provide military intervention, but was refused. In his capacity as a representative of SADC, Zuma insisted that a political solution needed to be reached through dialogue.

Lieutenant General Kamoli denied that it was an attempt at a coup, claiming that it was an anti-terror operation undertaken to stop members of the Basotho Mounted Police from providing arms to political parties who may have wanted to disrupt political protests slated to occur on September 1, which would have put pressure on government to re-open parliament.
Thabane had previously put steps in motion to fire Kamoli, including publishing a notice concerning Kamoli's removal in the government gazette and getting his removal approved by the king. Kamoli has since refused to step down and relinquish control to newly appointed Lieutenant General Mahao Wayne Simmonds Flyers Jersey , despite being offered amnesty and senior positions. Kamoli has also reportedly depleted the army's arms and ammunition in preparation for a stand off.
Tensions increased this week after the main opposition party, the Democratic Congress (DC), issued a statement warning that if General Kamoli is removed then, "the atrocities and blood bath that will befall this country will completely dwarf 1970. "My assessment is that things are not anywhere near normal. The greatest uncertainty is born from the fact that we don't know what resources are still in the hands of General Kamoli and what he intends to do with them," Lesotho Minister of Home Affairs Joang Molapo said on Friday.
When asked about reports that General Kamoli had been seen walking around Maseru and why security services have not detained him, Molapo responded, "Lesotho security forces are not challenging him because we do not want to escalate the situation."

Failing to convince the renegade general to step down over this weekend, members of the coalition may make further calls for military support at Monday's SADC Troika meeting to be held in Pretoria.
