The foundations for improvedstability are in place. But all these gains that the president andthe government have managed are fragile," said Guterres.
Guterres addressed members of the Somali government andrepresentatives of the international community at the one-dayconference, the third to be held in London over the past six years,and called for investments that preserved progress and whichaddressed the growing food insecurity crisis affecting millions ofSomalis.
"Their lives have been torn apart by a deadly combination ofchronic drought, endemic poverty and fragility, combined withdisplacement Air Max 2018 Sale , ongoing instability as well as violations ofhumanitarian and human rights law in the context of the terroristattacks," said Guterres.
The food crisis has left 6.2 million people severely foodinsecure, with 439,000 are at risk of famine, and 275,000malnourished children are at risk of starvation.
